LEC Format

The LEC Spring Split will feature 10 teams competing in a single round-robin tournament during the regular season. This means that each team will play against every other team once. All matches in the regular season are best-of-one. After Week 3, two teams will be eliminated, and the top eight will advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs will have different match formats. Rounds 1 and 2 will be best-of-three, while Rounds 3 and onwards will be best-of-five. The playoffs will utilize a double elimination bracket. Each team will have the opportunity to lose one match-up before facing elimination after losing a second time.

Stakes & Championship Points

The winners of the Spring Split will earn a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 in May, joining G2 Esports as European representatives. They will also secure a place in the LEC Season Finals, with a chance to qualify for the 2024 World Championships. If G2 Esports wins the Spring Split as well, the team with the most championship points will be the second European representative at MSI.

The current Championship Points leaderboard shows that MAD Lions KOI is currently in the lead. However, they will still need to perform well in the Spring Split to secure their spot. Teams will earn more championship points for winning games in Spring than they did in Summer.

LEC Team Changes

Team Heretics will be making a roster change for the Spring Split. Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus has been signed, and Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser will be out for the season. Trymbi is a well-liked player among fans, and his addition to the team has been met with enthusiasm. However, it’s important to note that the team’s previous performance issues were not solely due to Kaiser’s contributions.

There are also rumors circulating that Team Heretics will make another roster change, potentially benching Luka “Perkz” Perković. Perkz, once considered one of Europe’s best mid laners, has struggled to find success since leaving G2 Esports. Artur “Zwyroo” Trojan, the mid laner of Team Heretics’ academy team, is rumored to be taking Perkz’s spot.

Another confirmed roster change is happening in the top lane of Rogue. Finn “Finn” Wiestål will replace Mathias “Szygenda” Jensen for the Spring Split. After Rogue’s disappointing performance in the Winter Split, this change aims to bring a fresh dynamic to the team.
