All You Need to Know about E3 2018 Leaks

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is an exciting event for gamers, where major game announcements and surprises are expected. However, keeping these announcements under wraps can be quite a challenge in this day and age. Leaks and rumors have become more common, and we often get a glimpse of what’s to come before the official reveal. Let’s take a closer look at some of the verified leaks leading up to this year’s E3.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

One of the leaks that caught everyone’s attention was around the new Assassin’s Creed game titled Odyssey. The leak originated from a Walmart Canada listing that included unannounced games, with one of them being “Assassin’s Creed.” Speculation was rife, with some believing it to be a remake of the original game. However, a second leak from a French website, JeuxVideo-Live, provided more details, including the name “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” and a spartan helmet. Ubisoft then officially confirmed the game with a tweet and a teaser video.

Fortnite (Switch)

Fortnite has taken the gaming world by storm, being available on almost every platform except for the Nintendo Switch. However, a leaked image suggested that Fortnite might be making its way to the Switch soon. Although this leak hasn’t been officially verified, Destructoid claims to have received confirmation of other titles on the leaked list.

Dragon Ball FighterZ (Switch)

Another game that appeared on the 4chan Nintendo leak is Dragon Ball FighterZ for the Switch. It is speculated to be a port of the game released earlier this year, but there has been no official confirmation from Bandai Namco or Nintendo.

Rage 2

Walmart Canada caused quite a stir with a leak that featured a game pre-order page showcasing 20 unannounced games. One of the surprises was Rage 2, a sequel from Bethesda Softworks. Despite initial doubts about the accuracy of the leak, Bethesda confirmed the game’s existence and even criticized Walmart for not using the correct font in their listing.

Forza Horizon 4

The Walmart Canada leak also included a listing for Forza Horizon 5, raising questions about the next entry in the Forza Horizon series. Microsoft has previously indicated that Forza Horizon is an annualized franchise, but the number in the leaked listing suggests that it might be a typo. Microsoft has not confirmed the leak’s validity.

Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee

The leaks for Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee first appeared on April 1, leading many to dismiss them as April Fools’ jokes. However, these leaks turned out to be accurate when Pokémon Company officially announced the games. The leaks even provided details about the games’ titles and the connection to Pokémon Go.

Killer Queen Black (Switch)

A 4chan leak revealed several new games coming to the Nintendo Switch, including the highly popular arcade game Killer Queen. While the original game has only been available in arcades, a new version, called Killer Queen Black, seems to be in development for the Switch and other consoles. The official social media channels for Killer Queen Arcade have also started featuring black images, aligning with the leaked name.

Overcooked 2

The 4chan Nintendo leak also mentioned Overcooked 2, a sequel to the hit cooperative cooking game. While the leak has not been officially addressed by the developer, Ghost Town Games, it makes sense for a sequel to be in the works, especially for the Nintendo Switch.

Star Fox Grand Prix

Information about Star Fox Grand Prix was leaked on Reddit and 4chan, suggesting that Retro Studios is developing a flight racing game for the Nintendo Switch. While the leaks have not been confirmed, the appearance of a logo for the game adds some credibility to the rumors.

Gears of War 5

Walmart Canada’s leak also hinted at the return of the Gears of War franchise with Gears of War 5. Although Microsoft has not confirmed the game’s existence, this leak suggests that we may see a new Gears of War sequel before a new Halo game.

Just Cause 4

The Walmart Canada leak listed Just Cause 4, implying that a new game in the explosive action-adventure series is on the way. However, the complication arises from the fact that Avalanche Studios, the developer of Just Cause, is also working on Rage 2 with Bethesda and id Software.

Splinter Cell

Fans of the stealth-action series Splinter Cell have been eagerly awaiting a new game. While there have been rumors and leaks, the only mention so far comes from the Walmart Canada listing, simply stating “Splinter Cell.” Whether it’s a remake or an entirely new game remains to be seen.

Devil May Cry 5

The domain listing for Devil May Cry 5 has sparked excitement among fans, hinting at the return of Dante. If this new game follows the numbered continuity of the series, it may not continue the direction taken by Ninja Theory in DmC: Devil May Cry. However, the future of Ninja Theory’s series seems uncertain for now.

With so many leaks and rumors leading up to E3 2018, it’s clear that the gaming community is buzzing with anticipation. As the event approaches, we can expect more surprises and announcements that may confirm or debunk these leaks. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
